Summary[]
Short summary[]
Korosensei watches as Karasuma trains the class to swing knives for Phys. Ed. class. Distracted, Karasuma tells Korosensei to play in a sandbox nearby. Sugaya reminds Korosensei that his lessons are impossible to follow anyway. Karasuma tells the class the importance of learning the fundamentals, just like with studying, to have even a chance of killing Korosensei. He demonstrates this by inviting Isogai and Maehara to try to knife him, only to outmaneuver both of them. At a end of class, Nagisa comes across a familiar face, Karma. Karma goes to greet Korosensei, then attempts to assassinate him with knife blades hidden in his hand. As Karma intimidates Korosensei, Nagisa explains to Kayano that he was suspended in second year for committing numerous acts of violence, and for that, admitted to class 3-E.
Long summary[]
The chapter starts off with class 3-E students practicing 8 knife attacks repeatedly in the class 3-E courtyard. The students are being supervised and trained by Phys. Ed. teacher Karasuma. Korosensei comments on how "peaceful" the afternoon would seem if the students weren't swinging weapons, then gets ordered by Karasuma to go play in a nearby sandbox. Korosensei complains to Karasuma that his gym class is popular too, however Sugaya is quick to disprove him. He tells of when Korosensei held a P.E. class showing off his super speed, encouraging the students to practice his "visual duplication". Korosensei, saddened, goes back to play in the sandbox and creates a small sand hill.
Maehara then asks Karasuma to what use the training is. As an answer, the teacher challenges Maehara and Isogai to hit him with their knifes, stating that he won't be hurt as they're designed not to effective against humans. Because of the large skill difference between the teacher and the two students, Karasuma effortlessly dodges the attacks, then makes both of them fall to the ground. Karasuma points out that they werent able to hit a human, and that they're supposed to murder a "monster that moves at mach 20". In the meantime, Korosensei has built a miniature Japanese temple out of sand in the sandbox and is performing a tea ceremony, showing off his hyperspeed. Karasuma helps the two students up, then all of the students go on break and return to the classroom.
On their way back to the classroom building, Nagisa and Kimura notice a new student, Karma, standing on higher ground. Karma, whose suspension ended that day, meets Korosensei, who comments on him being late on his first day. Karma reaches out his hand to Korosensei, who does the same with his tentacles. Soon after the two make contact, Korosensei's tentacle bursts in slime drops. Karma quickly pulls out a blade that was hidden under his left sleeve and tries to stab the teacher. Korosensei immediately slides back, easily evading the blade. Karma beags to Korosensei about being able to hurt him, then continuously teases him until he becomes evidently angered.
As Karma is leaving, Kayano asks Nagisa about what kind of person Karma is. Nagisa replies that in second year he was suspended for committing numerous acts of violence. Nagisa then speculates that Karma will likely excel because of his weapon usage skills.
