Sumire Hara (原 寿美鈴, Hara Sumire) is a student in Korosensei's Class 3-E in Kunugigaoka Junior High School.

Appearance

Hara has brown hair that is usually worn in a ponytail, small brown eyes and she possesses a chubby figure. 

Personality

Hara is one of the most passive members of the class where she frequently acts as support in assassination attempts with her ability to assess the situation and herself. She is usually regarded as a motherly figure due to her ability to cook and care for the class. She has shown offense when people call her heavy as shown in Episode 14 when she got mad at Ryoma Terasaka for calling her heavy (he meant she was hanging on the tree branch and was so heavy that the branch couldn't support her and she would fall).

Abilities

Cooking: Hara is one of the two best cooks in Class 3-E, tying with Takuya Muramatsu.

Appetite: Hara's appetite is very high for a middle school girl, but she's able to eat anything in record time as shown when she managed to jump and bite bread from a hanging rope.

Marksmanship: Hara is ranked second for the girls side in marksmanship with 91/200 during training.

Craftsmanship: Using her knowledge in homemade craftsmanship, Hara can create anything designed for homes as shown when she can create a hidden trap using yarn and needle during the survival war game.

Etymology

• The name Sumire means "longevity, congratulations, one's natural life" (寿) (su), "beautiful" (美) (mi) and "bell" (鈴) (re). 
• Sumire's surname Hara means "field, plain" (原).
